William "Bill" Devitt

Bill Devitt was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on May 25, 1923. He Bill Devittgraduated from St. Thomas Military Academy (now St. Thomas Academy) in 1941. As a result of his St. Thomas training, he received in 1943 a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served in the army in World War II from 1943 to 1946 and in the Korean Conflict for seventeen months. After his military service, he received degrees in business administration and law from the University of Minnesota. He practiced law from 1955 to 1988 when he retired. About 1990 he started work on this book and completed it in 2001.
He is a slow worker. He married Mary McNulty in 1952. They have eight children and fourteen grandchildren. Mary and Bill presently have one house, one car, one lawn mower and eleven sets of dishes.
